Community rules

This is a place for landlords to help each other. A few rules keep it useful.

Be useful

Ask specific questions and answer from experience. Say what state you are in, because landlord law changes at the state line and often at the city line.

Fair housing

Do not ask for or give advice on how to avoid renting to anyone because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status (families with children), disability, or any class protected where you live, including source of income where it is protected. Posts that do will be removed. Questions about what the law allows are welcome.

Keep private details out

No tenant names, addresses, phone numbers, account numbers or screenshots of anyone’s records. For a problem with your LandlordPro account or billing, use Support instead of the forum.

No selling, no sketchy links

No wholesaling, “we buy houses,” lead generation, product or service pitches, promo codes, affiliate links or requests to move the conversation to text, WhatsApp or DMs. Links to official sources (government, courts, statutes, universities) are welcome. Any other outside link is reviewed by a moderator before it appears.

Watch for scams

No one from LandlordPro will ever ask for your password, bank details or Social Security number in the forum. Never pay anyone you met here by gift card, wire service or crypto. Report anything that looks off with the Report button.

Be civil

Disagree with the idea, not the person. No harassment.

How moderation works

Your first post waits for a quick review. Posts that match our spam, scam, link or fair-housing filters, or that our automated check flags, are also held for review. Anyone can report a post. Moderators may remove posts, lock discussions and ban accounts that break these rules.

Feature requests

Ideas posted in LandlordPro feature requests may be used to improve LandlordPro without payment or credit.

Not advice

Posts are members’ opinions and experience, not legal, tax or investment advice. Laws change and local ordinances can override state law. Check your statute or talk to a local attorney before acting.
