Most results are delivered within minutes after your applicant completes their consent and identity verification. Searches that require the applicant to link a third-party account (such as income or employment verification, where included) may take 1–2 business days after the applicant completes the link.

When you start from this page, your applicant pays. We email them a secure link to consent to the check and pay the screening fee directly — your cost is $0. This is the default because it's the fastest path to a free Pro trial and the most common landlord preference.

Want to pay yourself, or split the cost? That option lives inside your LandlordPro dashboard. After you create your free account, open the screening panel from any tenant or applicant record and choose Landlord pays, Applicant pays, or Split when you send the request.

State and local law may override your choice. Several states and cities cap application fees or prohibit charging the applicant at all. It is your responsibility to know and comply with the laws where your property is located.

Regardless of who pays, your free 30-day Pro trial activates on your first screening request — one per account, not stackable.

You earn a free 30-day Pro trial when you send your first screening request while on the free tier. The trial activates instantly and unlocks everything in Pro — lease signing, rent collection, maintenance tracking, legal notices, AI receipt scanning, and more.

One trial per account per rolling 12-month period. If your trial ends and you stay on the free plan, you can re-earn another free month by placing a new screening once 12 months have elapsed since your last trial. The trial isn't stackable with paid Pro subscriptions or other promotions — paying subscribers already get Pro, so the trial doesn't apply to them.

No credit card is required up front, and you will not be auto-charged when the trial ends. At the end of your 30 days, your account reverts to the free tier unless you actively choose to subscribe. If you do subscribe, Pro is $49/month (or the equivalent annual price); you can cancel any time from your Settings page. Unused AI credits and trial-only Pro features stop when the trial ends.

Yes. Our screening process is fully FCRA-compliant. We collect proper applicant consent, provide required disclosures, and support adverse action notifications if you need to deny an applicant based on their report.

Yes — and it's free to create. Creating an account takes about 2 minutes. Your account lets you track screening status, view results in your dashboard, and unlock your free Pro trial. The account you create here becomes your full LandlordPro login — no separate signup needed.

Your applicant will receive an email with a secure link to complete their consent form. If they don't respond, you can resend the link. The consent link is valid for 7 days.

Absolutely. Each screening is a separate purchase. There are no volume limits — screen as many applicants as you need.

When your selected package includes income or employment verification, your applicant securely links their payroll provider or bank account through our data partner (Argyle), and we pull verified pay, deposit, and employment records directly from the source — no pay stubs to forge, no HR calls to make.

A note on data quality: Verification quality depends on what the applicant's payroll provider or bank makes available. In some cases — self-employed applicants, cash income, small employers not connected to payroll networks, or thin deposit history — the available data may be partial or inconclusive. You'll receive whatever verified data exists, clearly labeled. Because these searches run against live third-party data, orders that include income or employment verification are non-refundable once the applicant initiates the link, regardless of the outcome. Every search is executed in real time against live third-party data providers (credit bureaus, national court/eviction/lien databases, and — where applicable — payroll/bank networks). All screening orders are non-refundable once the applicant begins the consent and verification process. If an applicant never starts their consent form, the order can be cancelled before any cost is incurred. Where your package includes income or employment verification, inconclusive results due to limited third-party data are not grounds for a refund.
